Wedding Vows and Promises
If you absolutely must have your rehearsal on Friday (or Saturday); we can work out a solution! A rehearsal takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on the wedding details. It is good to have everyone there on time. Bringing any props that will be used is also wise. And if you can remember bring the marriage license. * To rehearse or not rehearse? The bigger or more formal (intricate) the event, the stronger it will be with a rehearsal.
* The retainer is nonrefundable. (contract contains details)
* The county in which you plan to be married can give you the exact information you need. Ohio residents get their marriage license in the county in which they live. Non-Ohio residents get their marriage license in the county in which they plan to marry. Ohio's license are good for 60 days. The officiant must have the license before the ceremony.
* If you don't find your answer here please contact me
* I efficiently conduct the rehearsal, Tuesday - Thursday no more than a week before the wedding, only because I and/or a venue are usually scheduled for a wedding on Friday & Saturday nights. Some venues will include that in their price. I do not.
* You, the intended bride & groom need to apply in person for the marriage license at the correct license bureau or couthouse. I do not supply the license.
* I do not require premarital counselling. I do offer it; not as a psychologist but as a pastoral counselor/advisor.
* A reception invitation is not necessary.
* Gratuities are not expected but always appreciated.
Only those who bring a valid marriage license in accordance with the laws of Ohio or those of your state will have their marriage ceremony performed.
* I come to you.
* I perform custom spiritual, civil or interfaith ceremonies, any size, any style. I am ordained and licensed by the State of Ohio & legal to perform wedding ceremonies in other states.

* Please think carefully before choosing a friend or relative to perform your ceremony. Will State Law allow it? Can they carry the responsibility? Will the friend have sufficient authority & influence? Can they lend enough weight to the role to lead a ceremony? Can they lead the rehearsal? What about ceremony composition? Do they have the time to invest? A wedding takes about 10+ hours. Do you/they have a backup plan? These are just a few things you must consider. You may think you don't need a real officiant, just someone to say the words & sign the license, but a professional can help on a variety of other matters.
* When the wedding officiant has experience in performing a marriage ceremony, the ceremony will be more professional, polished and even more meaningful than when an untrained friend or family member presides. The wedding minister/officiant, in addition to writing or creating a cohesive ceremony, because of their experience, helps the entire ceremony process to run smoothly and ensures an appropriately dignified experience.
* I reserve the right for choosing whose ceremony I will perform, the type of wedding ceremony and also the ceremony site. I do not do any Pagan-type ceremonies. Nor will I perform ceremonies in places requiring diving, caving, skydiving. There are many other officiants that can & will perform these types of ceremonies.

* I use a contract. It protects us both.
