Wedding Vows and Promises

A rehearsal takes about 45-90 minutes, depending on the wedding details. It is good
to have everyone there on time. Bringing any props that will be used is also wise.
And if you can remember bring the marriage license.
To rehearse or not rehearse? The bigger or more formal (intricate) the event, the
stronger it will be with a rehearsal.
* The retainer is nonrefundable.

Occasionally it is suggested; it's never wasted time. And I do offer it; not as a
psychologist but as a pastoral counselor/advisor.
The county in which you live or plan to be married can give you the exact information
you need. Ohio residents get their marriage license in the county in which they live.
Non-Ohio residents get their marriage license in the county in which they plan to
marry. Ohio's license are good for 60 days. The Officiant must have the license
before the ceremony.
Your officiant should not be offended if you do not give them a gratuity; it is not
expected. Again, if your officiant is your pastor, by all means acknowledge him with a
tip. A hired officiant, only if you feel inclined to do so; a gratuity is a concrete way to
let the officiant know you appreciate their contribution. Of all wedding expenses, the
officiant is the least paid.

* I efficiently conduct the rehearsal, Tuesday - Thursday no more than a week before the wedding. If you absolutely must have your rehearsal on Friday (or Saturday); I have a solution!

* The intended bride & groom need to apply in person for the license.
|
* I do not require premarital counselling.
|
* A reception invitation is not necessary.
|

|
* Only those who bring a valid marriage license in accordance with the laws of Ohio or those of your state will have their marriage ceremony performed.
|
* I am ordained and licensed by the State of Ohio.
|
In 2006 my information changed requiring a new State's license
This is the license on record.
* I perform custom spiritual, civil or interfaith ceremonies, any size, any style in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana & beyond.
|
Feel free to email me with any questions you may have.
* Will State Law allow it? Can they carry the responsibility? Will the friend have
sufficient authority & influence? Can they lend enough weight to the role to lead a
ceremony? Can they lead the rehearsal? What about ceremony composition? Do
they have the time to invest? A custom wedding takes about 10+ hours. Do you have
a backup plan? These are just a few things you must consider.
You may think you don't need a real minister, just someone to say the words & sign
the license. But a minister can help on a variety of other matters.
* Could I have a friend or relative perform our ceremony instead? Possibly.
|
* When the wedding officiant has experience in performing a marriage ceremony, the
ceremony will be more professional, polished and even more meaningful than when
an untrained friend or family member presides. The wedding minister/officiant, in
addition to writing or creating a cohesive ceremony, because of their experience,
helps the entire ceremony process to run smoothly and ensures an appropriately
dignified experience.
I do not do any Pagan-type ceremonies. Nor will I perform ceremonies in places
requiring diving, caving, skydiving. There are many other officiants that can & will
perform these types of ceremonies.
* I reserve the right for choosing whose ceremony I will perform, the type of wedding ceremony and also the ceremony site.
